We would like to invite all prospective year 6 students and their families to visit the school during our open evening. Our main school open evening is on the 10th of October 2019, there are 2 sessions, one from 6:00pm until 7:30pm and a further one from 7:30pm until 9:00pm, we look forward to seeing you there.
We would like to congratulate our outgoing Y13 and Y11 students on some really pleasing exam results. Our school is in a very good place, and getting better every day! For us, outcomes are important because they can lead to more choice and allow our students to move to the destinations that they really want. However, our students are not just defined by numbers on a piece of paper. It is just as important to us that we develop young people who are kind, confident, inquisitive, safe and good citizens who are inclusive and give something back to the community.
This year we have 2 main aims as a school which both connect to learning.
(1) To focus on the consistency of teaching and learning so that students are encouraged to become experts, in every subject, we want to encourage students to think about how they learn and to use academic language to demonstrate this.
(2) To focus on helping our students to develop the attitudes to learning and learning habits that will make them effective and resilient independent learners.
As always, please keep in touch and offer your feedback on how we are doing. We are determined to be "the best version of Sprowston" we can possibly be!
Liz Wood - Head of School
The school photographer will be visiting on Friday 20th of September in the morning to take individual photographs of students. If your child misses this session they will be returning on Thursday the 31st of October to run a catch up session and to also take sibling pictures. Many thanks,
Congratulations to Mr Cordeaux's Year 7 History class who made and presented their black death cures to the class. The winners were Phoebe, Eva & Josh.
Congratulations to Mr Cordeaux's Yr7 history students who were winners of a very closely contested Castle designing competition!
Well done to Harley, Hayden, Colin, Poppy, Freya, Danny & Kimberly.
Year 11 students will follow this Revision and Exam programme from Monday 13th May during the exam period instead of just their normal timetable.
The programme outlines the details of the final revision sessions offered directly before their exams, as well as the times of the exams themselves.
Students need to highlight the subjects that they are entered for, and carefully follow this making sure they are in the correct place – either in an exam, a revision session, or their normal lesson.
Best of luck to all Year 11s over this period of time.
Congratulations to all of the students who were nominated for Star of the Week this half term.
This is in recognition for excellence in or out of lessons, students' positive attitude, or academic achievement.
Keep up the good work.
