Transition

We are delighted that you are considering our school for your child and recognise how important this decision is. We work very closely with our local schools to ensure a smooth transition takes place from Junior Schools to this community academy.

Each Year Group works as a smaller unit within the school with a Head of Year and 10 Tutors. We believe passionately that keeping Year 7 students together in a Year Group helps the move from Junior to Secondary school. Throughout the academic year we hold numerous activities for Year 5s and 6s, not only for our main feeder schools but many others too, to help students feel positive and excited about moving up to Secondary school. The carefully planned induction process for our new intake begins in July when all students spend time at the Academy under the careful supervision of Tutors, the Head of Year, peer counsellors and other students. As students move through the school, we ensure that there is an equally thorough process from KS3 to KS4 and then to KS5 with the option of accessing our sixth form.

Details of our transition process are available on the website but you are most welcome to look around our school and see for yourself whether Sprowston Community Academy is right for you. If you are moving into the Sprowston area we would be pleased to welcome your visit too.

Our school shop opens one day a week to ensure that all requirements for uniform and equipment are available at competitive prices.
