This year the Y13 students and Art Teachers Ms Humpleby, Ms Harris and Mr Wesley have formed a Collective Art group called the Sprowston Community Academy Art Team in order to take part in the 2020 Print Exchange.
The collaboration is an international event organised by Hot Bed Press in Manchester and takes place each year; this year over 500 artists from around 40 print studios signed up to this year's print exchange including international printing neighbours in CANADA, DENMARK, HONG KONG, ICELAND, IRELAND & RUSSIA so we are super accepted to have been allowed to take part. The exchange is a catalyst for links and collaborations between print workshops.
Workshops can submit work by artists in multiples of 10 artists. All artists have to produce an edition of 25 prints each 20cm x 20cm, (Paper size). The SCA Art Team have produced their prints using a variety of print techniques that they have learned across their Art course: these include Lino, Intaglio, Drypoint and Collagraph. It has been a creative way to discover how Practitioner Artists work to an external a brief set by a client, with specific requirements and a tight deadline. The completed prints from participating workshops also go on a tour, Last year's tour was exhibited at CUBE in Moscow, Russia, until August 10th.
Each of us has paid a £10.00 submission fee per artist payable through the workshop or print group, in return each artist will receive a portfolio of 20 random prints from other participants in the 2020 print exchange which is sent out in November. as a workshop we will also receive a random portfolio and a twinned portfolio matching us up with another print workshop. I hope you enjoy looking at our prints and we look forward to sharing the prints we receive in exchange--
